Create your own!
This last day is all about allowing the students to use their imagination and creativity. After day 5, students will have a complete understanding of how the resources that we use effect our environment and the world around us. They will be able to create their own version of a renewable energy source or show a way that we can harness these resources and use them themselves.
The students today will be allowed to do their own research to create their own new energy project. Ideally the students will be alone or in pairs. I think it is important to give the students choices to better express their learning abilities and talents. For the visual learners, they will create a poster or use a website (examples in outside sources) showing a town that they created which uses some form of new energy. Also, for a more kinesthetic and artistic approach, students can create their own rendition of a new energy form, like a windmill. Other options would be their own interpretation of a solar panel (example in outside sources). This is really up to the students' creativity. The idea is to give them all the information and materials they need, allow them to perform their own research, and then create some sort of project that represents new energy resources. It is not expected that this sort of project would take only one day, instead the project should be introduced and the students should have at least a week. After day 5, students will know more about how harnessing renewable resources can change cities, environments, and the lives of people.
*Classroom projects would also be beneficial for the students at this stage: composting, classroom garden, plants that show how water purifies (example in outside resources), etc.
